Main festivities in Los Rios & Manabi
Day of the Dead: Held on November 2, this is a multitudinous celebration made with flowers and processions with which people remember their ancestors in most villages and towns throughout Manabi and Los Rios.
Montubio Festivities / Day of Our Race: This celebration is held on October 12 (Columbus Day) in several towns of Manabi and Los Rios. They elect Criolla Bonita (Miss Criolla), they have local bands and bullfights (where they don’t kill the bull), parades, piñatas, drinks, and much more.
Saint Peter and Saint Paul: Celebrated on June 29, in Manta, Montecristi, Crucita, Jaramijo, and other towns in Manabi. People organize the traditional water processions with music and other cultural exhibits.
